Kalamies Beach Restaurant

Nestling on the beach of the same name, the Kalamies Beach Restaurant in Pernera (near Protaras) overlooks a pretty bay fringed by golden sand, with a small domed white chapel standing on the cliff top. This lovely family-run restaurant has been popular with seafood lovers since 1976 when it opened - warmly welcoming guests with traditional Cypriot hospitality and truly excellent food.... and to everyone’s delight, nothing has changed!

The atmosphere is lovely; cooled by the onshore breeze, with a beautiful view over the Mediterranean by day and the inky black starry sky and the lights of fishing boats on the horizon by night, with the tables lit by candles.

If you enjoy seafood this is definitely THE place with so many delicious dishes to choose including oysters, steamed mussels, seafood linguine and wonderful lobster. There are over 20 different fish choices - including grilled sea bass and kalamari stuffed with Feta – all cooked to perfection and served with fresh lemon to drizzle on top to really enhance their flavour! For those not sure which to order, the Fish Mezé- which is a selection of taster dishes – is the perfect solution!

One of the chef’s signature dishes is Surf & Turf which combines tasty fish and meat and for those who prefer meat, there is a great selection of dishes to choose including an excellent steak, cooked to perfection. There is an array of homemade traditional Cypriot dishes including Kleftiko- lamb that has been cooked by slow burning wood for many hours in a clay-sealed oven and delicious creamy Moussaka. There are salads and vegetarian options on the menu too, as well as a really good children’s menu, which is always popular.

Kamamies Beach Restaurant is open all day through for drinks, snacks, breakfasts and lunches and in the evening is the perfect choice for those seeking a romantic dinner for two or a truly memorable meal with family and friends.
