Sanctuary of Apollo is situated in Episkopi, 3km west of Kourion. Apollo, God of the woodland was the protector of the city of Kourion. The cult of Apollo was celebrated here from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD.
This well defined architectural complex in Cyprus offers insight into the development of a Cypriot rural sanctuary from the Bronze Age through to the end of paganism on the island. The majority of the monuments as they can be seen today belong to the site's 1st century AD restorations.

Almost all the site is wheelchair accessible: small bridges and passageways. (The site´s western part can be accessed via a special entrance that can be opened by the site´s guards).
